Support and solidarity with the workers of the Philip Morris tobacco industry in Izmir, Turkey

The New Left Current for the Communist Liberation (NAR) and the Communist Liberation youth (nKA) declare their full support and solidarity with the workers of the Philip Morris tobacco industry in Izmir, Turkey. The workers who receive wages below the poverty line organized themselves in their union and demanded salary raises. In a Turkey plagued by inflation, the profitable tobacco industry responded by laying off 124 workers!

At the moment, the sacked workers and their colleagues are fighting on a daily basis at the gates of the Philip Morris factory for the reinstatement of their colleagues and the satisfaction of their just demands. From Greece, we unite our voices with them!

The common struggles of the workers on both sides of the Aegean are the solution!

We demand an immediate revocation of the layoffs and the start of negotiations with the workers and their union! Decent wages for everyone regardless of their employment status (permanent, contract)!

Workers shall win!
