The fascists and trained killers who are sent to each city by the neoliberal/neonazi Kiev regime and are also supported by the EU and the USA commit mass murders. The planned arson attack of the Trade Union building last Friday in Odessa killed more than 40 people and injured about 130. With the military attack of the Kiev regime against the revolting people, the situation is climaxing in a dangerous manner. Apart from that, the concentration of NATO forces in Poland and the Baltic, and the exercises they conduct, cause Russia’s response in the region. Another factor that deteriorates the situation is the financial sanctions against Russia prepared by the USA and the EU.
The Russian representative in the UN stated that “the West denies every possibility for a peaceful solution in the Ukrainian crisis by supporting the repressive Kiev authorities”. The statement reveals the dramatic and dangerous character of the Ukraine developments, both for the people and for the so-needed peace.
As New Left Current and Communist Liberation Youth we express our solidarity with the fight of the people who revolt in East Ukraine trying to defeat the neofascists.
We denounce every policy that represses the rights of the Ukrainian people and every plan that targets the banning of communist, left or antifascist organizations.
We denounce the imperialist policy of the USA, NATO and the EU in east Ukraine and nearby regions, the support they offer to the nationalist government and finally, their choice of increasing the competition against Russia, which could lead to a regional war and immense destructions.
We denounce the Greek government (Nea Dimokratia, PASOK) for taking part in the EU and NATO campaigns and activities, endangering our country.
The Left should state what for a long time has been kept silent
The only true fight that could break the imperialist chains of the European Union and NATO is the fight that connects the modern social rights with the vision for another type of society, with justice, equality, solidarity. It is a fight that will turn the labor class into a class-in-itself. Guided by a strategy of social emancipation, revolution and communism of the 21st century as they emerge from the movement we should determine what brings us closer to the possibility for the people to live in a human way at present. We oppose piecemeal policies of the “less evil” which lead to capitalist Russia being regarded as the protector of the mass movement.
Our country’s left forces should play a leading role in organizing solidarity demonstrations and activities in support of the people of Ukraine (and also for the antifascists of Greek origin that fight along with them), who resist to the nazi and neofascist regime of Kiev.
